Looking for a truly unique way to connect with your little one? Come join Mini Makes & Me, our brand-new weekly activity at the Scarborough Women’s Shed run by The Locals!
We offer a dedicated, pressure-free space for our little ones and their special grown-ups. This is a zone for children and their carers (of all ages!) to explore hands-on art. There are no expectations or judgments here—just the freedom to get a little messy and let your imaginations run wild.
What to Expect: Each week is a creative surprise, designed to foster a love of art and exploration. While the exact activity is always a secret, here’s a peek into the kinds of memorable experiences you might share:
- Nature’s Palette: Learn to paint with natural pigments, discovering the vibrant colors hidden in plants and earth.
- Flower Power: Create stunning, one-of-a-kind designs by dying fabrics using real flowers and botanical elements.
- Motion in Color: Explore “painting with motion,” using whole-body movements and unexpected tools to create dynamic, expressive art.
- The First Camera: Step back in time and build your very own camera the old-fashioned way, discovering the simple magic of light and shadow.
