Here at The Locals, we are all about community, sustainability, and slowing down to create something beautiful with our hands. That’s why we are absolutely thrilled to host Cath from Garden of Weavings for an intimate, soul-nourishing evening of craft and connection.

Whether you are looking to unplug, learn a beautiful ancient skill, or just spend a peaceful evening alongside great company, this workshop is the perfect creative escape. Space is limited, so grab a spot, bring your creative spirit, and let’s make something wonderful together.

What You’ll Learn & Create

Join us for an evening of learning the ancient art of Looping. In this hands-on session, you will:

• Master a simple looping technique to create a sweet little basket or string pouch.
• Experiment with various types of strings and sustainable fibres.
• Learn the rewarding craft of making your own custom string and cordage.

This workshop will teach you the fundamental techniques and skills to create both functional everyday items and unique sculptural art pieces.

What’s Included

• All materials and equipment: Everything you need is provided. However, please feel free to bring along any found objects or special adornments that are meaningful to you if you would like to incorporate them into your project!
• Nourishment: Warm tea, coffee, and delicious, nourishing snacks to keep the creative energy flowing.
• The Space: A peaceful and tranquil environment where community connection, inspiration, and individual creativity are fully encouraged.
