SUMMARY:Ladies Art Club Sunday 7th Dec - Guest Host Mellina Vandervalk - Artisea
DESCRIPTION:Discover\, Create\, & Connect: Welcome to the Ladies Art Club\nAre you looking for a supportive\, creative space to explore your passions and connect with fellow creators & makers? We (The Locals) are thrilled to host the Ladies’ Art Club at the Scarborough Women’s Shed! \nWe believe in fostering a love of art through hands-on play and mutual support. Every scribble is celebrated\, and every creative is welcome\, from absolute beginners to experienced creators. \nA New Creative Adventure Every Session: We keep the activities a secret\, so every session is a delightful surprise! \nSpecial Guest Host Spotlight: Meet Mellina\nFor this upcoming session\, we are absolutely delighted to have the wonderful Mellina Vandervalk from Artisea hosting the space! \nMellina’s creative journey spans from studying sculpture at art school in Ireland to working alongside elite international creators at Art Basel in Switzerland. However\, she quickly realised that pristine\, exclusive galleries weren’t for her—because she firmly believes that art is for everyone. \nAfter moving to Western Australia and immersing herself in nature and outdoor education\, Mellina fell in love with the pure\, unclouded joy of raw creativity. For Mellina\, art and play are completely intertwined\, and she uses the creative process as a beautiful form of mindfulness. \nThe Art of Slowing Down: Pen & Nature.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if all you needed to be creative was a pen and a moment to pause? \nInspired by the patterns\, shapes and rhythms of the natural world\, this gentle\, process-led workshop explores how simple lines and marks can become a meditative practice. Using only a pen and a few easy techniques\, we’ll slow down\, notice the details around us and let go of the pressure to create something perfect. \nA reminder that creativity doesn’t need complicated materials or a plan. Sometimes\, it’s simply about making space to breathe\, reconnect and see the world a little differently. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nJoin our creative community and rediscover the joy of artistic play! \nReady to meet your fellow makers? See below to book in today…  \nNote: This is a ladies-only workshop.  \n\n\n\nCost: $30 Plus bring a new friend for free.
